Burry Port

Burry Port’s harbour, once used for shipping coal from the nearby valleys is now a picturesque marina for pleasure craft. On either side are sandy beaches. Eastwards the sandy shore continues for about a mile backed by low dunes and a cycle path to Llanelli. To the west is a good size sandy beach, leading to a long sandy inlet backed by dunes and a cycle path to Pembrey. The harbour has plenty of inexpensive P&D car parking. Facilities include toilets, cycle parking, plenty of seating, a cafe (west side of harbour) and catering vans in summer. Signs warn against swimming and the danger of sandbanks. The village of Burry Port is a 5 minute walk away and has a railway station (Pembrey & Burry Port), supermarket, cafes and pubs. http://beachguide.wales/swalessomerset/burryport.php
